I’m Tommy K, a professional multi-genre DJ.
My job is to make people smile and dance, often at the same time! I do this by mixing music across styles and decades, emphasising fun, danceability and the occasional surprise.
Based in Nottingham, I regularly travel across the UK and internationally to perform.
I sold out my first event in 2009 and I’ve never looked back. Music has taken me all over the world playing at festivals, clubs and parties. I cover all styles of music, all kinds of events, and have been a professional DJ for over 10 years. I pride myself on reliability, listening to my client’s needs and — most importantly — keeping the audience happy!
3 career highlights so far:
Playing Glastonbury Festival to 5,000 people
Winning the Reggae Vinyl Championship in 2023
DJing for LinkedIn in Soho, alongside Steven Bartlett (Diary of a CEO / Dragon’s Den).
Wherever I perform live, the audience understands that music is amazing across genres, and I want to surprise and delight them with transitions that cross boundaries. Music is something that brings people together and I’m grateful to share that joy through my work.

Preferred Supplier: Cleaver & Wake
I’ve been working at the newly constructed Island Quarter site since it opened, and am proud to now be a preferred DJ supplier for Cleaver & Wake, Nottingham. This is a beautiful, architecturally stunning venue. From DJing soul records in the bar at Bink’s Yard, to curating Candlelight Concerts upstairs, I’ve shown the team my professionalism and versatility across a range of events. I’m now their go-to DJ for weddings, corporate, fashion shows and private hire events in the upstairs space. It’s a joy to work with Liam and the team and provide a first-class service to their clients.

Rescue Rooms, Nottingham | Most Saturday nights from 2023-2025, I was at Rescue rooms, playing a feel-good selection of 60s–90s throw-backs in the main bar. It was all about the warm, analogue nostalgia of Disco - Soul - Classic Rock - New Wave - Funk & Motown. Catering to a mostly student audience, I had to keep the hits coming and blend them into a seamless dancefloor-friendly mix to keep their attention. Not an easy task but one I rose to every week and which sharpened up my selecting and mixing skills even further.

The Carousel, Hockley, Nottingham | This is a great community venue and one I really enjoy playing at regularly. The music policy is open-minded and people come here for all kinds of reasons; whether that’s a workshop, co-working day or night-time event.

Hot Plants | This collaborative project with DJ Sasswell combines our shared love of plants and music. Still in it’s early stages, the project is based on building a community of people with shared interests. We get as many plants in a venue as possible, then play a mostly vinyl selection of Soul, Reggae, Alternative, Disco and a touch of classy Pop! You can follow us @hotplantsmusic
