People attend corporate events for many reasons: to celebrate achievements, make new connections, or unwind after a tough project. These motivations aren’t so different from why people go to clubs, festivals, or parties. My job is to soundtrack a room of people who share something—though not their taste in music. This takes skill, patience, and confidence. My research starts months ahead and continues throughout, tuning into what works, what doesn’t, the room’s energy, and where to take it next.
